mahalo for your patience while i pulled a disappearing act to put the finishing touches on hapa | hale's makeover. after months and months of pushing design notes back and forth across the interweb, i am delighted to welcome everyone back for a peek of h|h's lovely new website!
after four years of sharing my favorite island finds with you, i think we can all agree that it was time to say aloha to the old website and introduce a fresh new look to complement all the modern island goodness being created by hawaii's emerging style & design community.
a few notes:
- categories have been updated to better reflect the {hale} in h|h. style & beauty finds will be waiting for you in the dressing room; visit the studio for art, design & crafts; skip over to the playroom for keiki goods; step onto the lanai for outdoor loveliness; or relax in the cabana before you hit the waves (and so on). and, the soon-to-be newly wed are invited to check-in to the love nest.
- tags have been introduced which will make it a snap to follow your favorite designers (although the new search function is mighty fine!).
- be sure to check out h|h's new sponsors - a stylish bunch, if i do say so myself. please note h|h has always been and will remain strictly editorial so rest assured that featured designers and finds will continue to be handpicked with no extra credit given to advertisers.
and, since h|h remains a one girl mission to showcase modern style & design from hawai'i, a small favor request from me to you - please join the h|h whispering campaign and share the new website with your peeps. a simple click on the handy {share article} link located at the end of every post allows you to email, tweet away, share with your facebook friends, tumblr, or whatever it is all the cool kids are doing these days.

a few small details are still being ironed out behind-the-scenes (oh linkwithin, why won’t you play nice with the archives?) but i will be back next week with all the latest discoveries for springtime . . .

p.s. there are simply not enough kinds words to bestow upon john (of cuckoo for coconuts fame), my exceptionally talented designer who helmed h|h's makeover. he somehow catered to all my whims and found a way to turn my many dreamy notions into a lovely website befitting h|h's upcoming adventures.
the charming new h|h logo featured in the banner was letterpressed with love by miemiko atelier while misa jewelry sweetly customized a shima mini necklace with the perfect gemstone just for me.
